RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:national bank buying a lot of shares

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:national bank buying a lot of sharesThis only applies to IPO's once on the secondary market its retail or institutional investors (if the price allows) that do the trading... of course on a primary market the banks hold all the stock aside from the "presidents" list, which consists primarily of insiders and owners of the company IPO'ing... what we see daily is not  (in THRM's case) banks trading between themselves aside from possibly one portfolio transfering to another "in kind"..

I'll just leave it here, but have a read. You are being misled. I've worked for 2 banks in the last 23 years.

Understanding Primary Markets

The primary market is where securities are created. It's in this market that firms sell (float) new stocks and bonds to the public for the first time. An initial public offering, or IPO, is an example of a primary market. These trades provide an opportunity for investors to buy securities from the bank that did the initial underwriting for a particular stock. An IPO occurs when a private company issues stock to the public for the first time.

Once the initial sale is complete, further trading is conducted on the secondary market, where the bulk of exchange trading occurs each day.
