Bitcoin comes in various denominations   BTC is most commonly expressed in one of three denomations:
 
  • Bitcoin – BTC – (1 full Bitcoin)
  • MilliBitcoin – mBTC – (1 thousandth of a BTC)
  • MicroBitcoin – uBTC – (1 millionth of a BTC)
For most purposes mBTC will be the standard unit of purchase, roughly ~20 US cents. It’s small enough to be used and big enough to actually be worth something.
