Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

The merger

The mergerTilray as noted by many out there was hurting. Their cost to produce was too high. Aphria was not in that kind of position, as we were actually EBITDA positive and gaining ground. Did we need the merger? I think the merger is good but not sure why we the stronger corporation should need to pay the premium. We are actually giving Tilray a lifeline and the Apharia shareholders, you and me, deserve a better deal than this. No reason why we should only get .8381 if a new TLRY share. In the long run I do believe it is a win, I just don't like getting short changed all the time.
