RE:This is why QBTC/GBTC is better than actually owning bitcoin

RE:This is why QBTC/GBTC is better than actually owning bitcoinYou do realize that the QBTC managers are working hard to get the premium ? They just issued 1 148 543 units on december 24 at nav, or 7% of the units outsanding when the premium was at 15%    So they will keep on doing this over and over as this increase their management fees.    So, is paying this premium as well as an annual 2% management fee instead of using ledger or any other type of cold storage ?    If one had say, 5 bitcoin, it means he get an extra 0.75 BTC to manage his risk and paying that 2% yearly.

Of course, if you want to use your TFSA or RRSP, they you do not have a choice that to buy QBTC or Galaxy new fund.     That's the price to pay.  But one should be warn that the this premium should tend to go to 0 in the long run as they can keep on issuing shares and more competition comes to market.
