RE:RE:For comparison on how long to 'siliconize'The smartphone is a big market, but industry uses for quality control on the assembly line and conveyor belt, and medical device imaging, is several times larger.
Just an example.
In the big diamond mines, after the kimberlite is crushed, it goes onto a conveyor belt where cameras identify the diamonds, and then compressed air is routed through nozzles and used to 'puff' the diamond off the conveyor belt into a collection sieve.
Down to the micro-diamond size for use in abrasive cutting tools/bits/sandpaper.
Better resolution cameras operating with higher efficiency is worth millions to that industry if they could recover the 'missed' diamonds.
Detection of microfractures from ships' hulls to stressed bridges and pipelines, and all manner of welds.
The list of applications spans virually every manufactured item.
Too many to list here.
Lots and lots of better images...with less bandwidth usage.
Can you say 'Gamechanger'?
To the bashers out there, keep up the game.
You serve a purpose.
People like me need people like you, in order to fill the hayloft.
I'll leave it at that and go back and sit in the weeds.
