Converter vs. concentrator

Converter vs. concentratorI have been consistently refering to the RCK/AVL joint venture as a concentrator when I should have been identifying it as a converter or perhaps even better in North America a refinery.

A concentrator would reside at the respective mines.  The refinery is proposed for Thunder Bay.

I was mixing up the two "c" words, converter of which is perhaps more of a European term.  I'm still learning.
