600 cartons = 6000 packs x.04 pounds =240 per day 

Must be a typo in the article 

5700 cartons =57000 packs x.04 pounds =2280 pounds per day 

thats a bit closer to there production estimate 

this article need to correct that ASAP.  How would that even get passed them.
