RE:RE: $BIOV Seeking AlphaOvarian cancer has significant unmet treatment needs---good disease target for oncology companies w/ new approaches. Mostly asymptomatic in early stages (STage 1 and 2) , so majority of cases are diagnosed with stage III and stage IV disease, w/ stage III / stage IV oc ultimately being recurrent & resistant to chemo. If you do some desk research you see a median progression-free survival of just 22 months after surgical tumor removal for stage III patients, and around 18 months w/ incomplete tumor removal in stage III/IV patients. Majority of these women die from their cancer within 5 years, so no good therapeutic options (yet). Lots of published data out there on oc.
