Georgia on my mind...Yesterday's rabble rousing at the Capitol obscured an item of optimism & hope: the emergence of a giant slayer in Jon Ossoff.
Rev. Warnock, I was confident would pull through because of his persona, his record, his excellent campaign, his powerful pulpit at a house of worship of renown, but above all because he was opposed by the weakest candidate in the field in Kelly L.
Ossoff on the other hand had no name-recognition, no public record and was facing a powerful senator of long standing in Perdue. Ossoff campaigned on his wits and campaigned well. Sure he was young, energetic, good looking, could think on his feet and could express his thoughts lucidly (shades of Mayor Pete). But danger lurked when outside intervention threatened to sow division in the two campaigns. Some of the usual attack dogs from the zionist clique up north, e.g. Dershowitz and Bret Stephens, interjected themselves into the campaign flamethrowing slanderous charges of anti-semitism against Rev. Warnock. Didn't work and Ossoff would have none of it. He literally and figuratively joined hands with Warnock aware that without black community support he'd get nowhere. And thanks to Stacy A and her team the voters did turn out. Ossoff defeated not only Perdue but dislodged Mitch from his perennial Senate perch.
Thanks also to the presidential buffoon for throwing hand grenades at the state GOP leadership in the midst of a hotly contested run off.
I raise a toast to Ossoff/Warnock.
Cheers.
