RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Alstom share price

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Alstom share priceI didn't say that the bomber was providing rail even though they did quote. I believe the decison was made in 2018  (not sure)

the rail contract was worth 2.2 billion of the 6.3 billion or so at the time.
SNC's portion I believe was 600 million and the rest for infrastructure

Big difference supplying units and service to private operators than supplying massive costly rail equipment and signalling to governments that hold off payment for months with much in penalties for delivery and quality.
Bomber did not have enough time or financial strength to prove otherwise,

Best they did what they did and stick to what they know best.

All in all I cannot blame the governments or the caisse in going with the alternatives.  Any misses would have been costly let alone totally embarrasing as they would have been under  everyones microscope ,

IMO the bomber is best where it is now considering the circumstances.

Again... so why are other govts buying from bombardier then ???  ... something went terribly wrong between our govts and the bomber and that is why the bomber wasn't going to get any more money or contracts HENCE why they sold to Alstom ...please look at the facts from your link , there is no mention of Bombardier providing trains for the REM , and this link does not have the  NEW ADDITIONS TO THE ORIGINAL REM which will go into the est end (PAT - MTL NORD) which wil ADD $10 Billion to your link ... if you add both of them up you will notice that there will be some good money in trains right there , but the bomber was not getting any of it ... this east end REM has been talked about for years ( pink line of metro , trains etc.) , our city has been talking about  quicker forms of transport for the east end for years and finally decided on an extension to the REM ... hopefully the sale to Alstom fixed the relation with govts since they will still make good money with Alstom since they will provid work for our economy ...  According to the media, the final bids were submitted to CDPQ Infra on 27 October 2017.[17] On 10 November 2017, the date of the planned announcement of the selected contractors, the procurement process was "postponed indefinitely," according to the Caisse's subsidiary, to provide more time for the analysis and evaluation of the bids received.[18] On 8 February 2018, CDPQ Infra finally announced its selection: Groupe NouvLR consortium for the EPC contract (SNC-Lavalin Grands ProjetsDragadosAecon, Pomerleau, EBC and AECOM) and the Groupe des Partenaires pour la Mobilit des Montralais for the RSSOM contract (Alstom and SNC-Lavalin O&M).[16][19] The contracts' value is estimated to be around $6.3 billion, out of which approximately 80% account for the EPC contract.[20]

Anyone would have been out of his mind to have given the contract to Bombardier considering the financial state it was in.

Would have made no business sense  neither for the governments or the banks.

The quebec economy is still getting a good portion of the REM contract though not in Rail. Rail portion is 2,2 billion cdn for the cars or about 30% of the contract.

pretty much ... things could have been different if Canada wanted to build a better rail system or backed the bomber up with purchases like all other govts have done around the world .. It was clear to me that BT was going to be a thing of the past when the REM trains were not coming from the bomber , now that there is an east end additional investment of  $ 10 Billion  it could have provided some good sales/service  for the bomber ... the govts were scared to stand up to WTO like usual ... during this pandemic while there was a buy local campaign " le panier bleu " , went to meet a govt representative while she was handing out masks . The masks had the "i heart icon montreal "  on them but when I looked on the inside the tag says " made in Mexico " .. you can't make this stuff up ... our govts don't shoot themselves in the foot , they blow up the whole neighborhood time and time again..I guess the bomber had enough and sold the Canadian jewels ... I don't blame them anymore ... GLTA
