Putting the Pieces TogetherHello All Long and Welcome Newcomers,
In the most recent presentation Peter stated that we will be getting a powder update in the next month. Give it two months though, always better to be surprised then wait for imminent news ;) Since we can expect something coming I wanted to share some information and highlight a couple of items that have peaked my interest.
Slide 14 of the Investor Presentation
"In disussion with large North American OEM to install our record breaking technology into production lines" This is by far, in my opionion, the most significant part of the presentation for those who have been following along. This is part of this story that has been developing since 2016, and late 2018 to early 2019 it started coming to fruition. His change in tone and the words he used when talking about the Additive business in the SNN presentation was very telling for me. I have listened to every one of his interviews more than once and read everyting he's written going back to when the company first went public. There are key elements in this attached article from November 13, 2018.
PyroGenesis Announces Receipt of AS9100D Certification for Aviation, Space, and Defense Industries; Provides Update on AM Business Line, The Canadian Business Journal (cbj.ca)
Another significant milestone, probably bigger than the 10-ton contract, was when we announced in the summer (August 20, 2018), that a leading 3D printer OEM put us on their recommended list to their customers after extensive testing/qualifying of our powders. Our powders had either met or exceeded rigorous property requirements under intensive chemical and mechanical analysis conducted by this leading 3D printer OEM. It continues to become more interesting in a NR from August 2017. Until recently they weren't interested in that size, and he specifically mentioned Desktop Metals.
The third (3rd) type is an inkjet type technology, used, for example, by Desktop Metals, and whereby the powders are coated with a binder to “glue” the powders together. These printers require ultra-fine powder, smaller than the powder required for Laser sintering machines, and a size cut that, until recently, PyroGenesis was not focusing on. Who is Desktop Metal? Well only the coolest 3D Metal Printer ever made. Oh and they have massive industry backing. Ford, Google, GE, Panasonic, Stratasys, Saudi Aramco... the list goes on and on and on....

In an early 2019 interview while sitting with Mr. Datillo (VP Pyro Additive) Peter made a very bold statement. "We will be able to make any type of metal powder and ship it to you cheaper than you can manufacture it onsite using any other process"
I have read more on additive than I care to go into. Every process PAP (Plasma Atomization) Water Atomization, Gas Atomization... there are a couple others but these are the main ones. Peter said something and I confirm everything I possibly can. I'm also quite sure I know approximately what his cost of production per KG of Ti64 powder is... but I won't share that or how I figured it out.
At the end of the day Pyro is going to have a relation ship with Desktop, I don't care what anyone says. I have been known to make many speculations and be wrong but there is no way on God's green earth that they have not been in talks since 2017. They make the highest quality powder cheaper than any other process. Desktop Metal... the most revolutionary tech to hit manufacturing since the forge wants a relationship with Pyro.

Full disclosure, I own Pyro and have for three years. Recently I have been trading in order to accumulate.
