RE:thumbs up Reputation is based on the previous 12 months. When a person gets their first thumbs up in a month, they lose all the thumbs up for the same month in the previous year. When you got your first thumbs up of Jan 2021, you lost all the thumbs up (19) from Jan 2020. When you get your first thumbs up of Feb, you will lose all the thumbs up from Feb 2020 (22).

It appears to be an incentive to encourage consistent participation, i.e. keep commenting or your reputation will drop.
