Aylmer WeedMD facility to benefit from company consolidation WeedMD’s Aylmer facility will now undertake all medical packaging, labelling and distribution of it’s medical-grade cannabis. The move to the Elm Street operation in Aylmer from the firm’s Bowmanville, Ontario medical distribution hub was announced in a release earlier this month.
The move is designed to maximize the utilization of its facilities, improve operational efficiencies and further align its cost structure while focusing on growth, according to the release.
It will focus on product distribution, processing and extraction activities. WeedMD has offered to relocate some of the 20 Bowmanville employees to the 26,000 square-foot Aylmer operation.
George Scorsis, executive chairman and interim CEO of WeedMD notes in the release, “We are now centralizing and fully utilizing our cannabis production sites and our talent to their fullest potential.”
WeedMD – founded in 2014 – has more than 300 employees at its facilities in Aylmer and Strathroy plus offices in London and Toronto.
