Recently the Northern Miner publication put out an “exploration snapshot” featuring eight companies active in BC, NWT and the Yukon.

We were pleased to see Treaty Creek / Tudor Gold be one of the projects highlighted, but having a fully carried interest until such time as a Production Notice is given, that project is not the only point of interest to us in the article.

The first company featured is Ascot Resources, a close neighbour with projects to the east and west of our Dunwell mine. Dunwell has historic productions grades similar to what Ascot has in resources.
The second company listed is Banyon Gold.  They have a project in northern Yukon close to Victoria Gold.  Victoria Gold owns the Eagle Gold Mine; Canada’s newest gold mine (July 2020) and there are some interesting facts about it that we think AMK shareholders should know.
  • Its production is at 0.65gpt gold with a cut off grade of 0.3gpt gold
  • It has about 3.3 million ounces of gold with a mine life of 11.5 years
  • It has a good strip ratio and is located in a friendly mining jurisdiction
While the average gold mine in the world has a gold grade of just over one gram, there are many examples of mines like Victoria Gold’s Eagle mine in the Yukon that are making money hand over fist at these sub-one gram grades.  For example, Centerra Gold’s Mount Milligan mine in northern BC producing similar grades, or another is Kinross’s Fort Knox mine at under 0.5 gpt gold located in Alaska.

A significant advantage for the Goldstorm zone at Treaty Creek is the gold enriched 300 Zone (about 1gpt gold), which begins near surface and extends to 300 meters in depth and gives the project the possibility of an open pit design with associated very favorable strip ratio.
