Canada is better off than most with a power grid that's largely green (hydroelectric and nuclear) forming the base - with fossil fuel plants in decline - and wind/solar filling the gaps. I was surprised to hear this report infer an addressable market of 2000MW storage. For reference - one CANDU nuclear reactor (Bruce Power has eight, OPG has twelve though some(?) are perm offline); each of these reactors produces 850MW into the grid.
2000MW of battery storage in Canada would be a lot of SI powder.
