Richard Russell vol. IIRichard talked of having to blow his life up in New York as his marriage failed and things got tough. He moved to San Diego, and remarried a more compatible woman. He accepted his failings as a husband, and welcomed the challange of establishing a new life. He loved his new life and never had regrets. His advice was never be afraid to blow your life up. It is the scariest thing in the world to do it. I did it. I have never been more at peace in my life. I am now 60 years old. I have three wonderful children and have seen and experianced amazing things. Richard flew in a B-47 as a nose gunner i believe in the European theater. He flew many missions and was highly decorated. He often mused- why did I live and so many others died. He thought it very funny that Hitler never shot down "the little J-w in the nose of that b-47". (His words). He spoke of cleaning up his uncle's brains in an apartment I think in Boston in the early depression as he was soft and could not face the hard life coming. The soft will not make it. Time to get Steve McQueen tough. WW
