Why hasn't Blackberry been taken over?

If it has as much potential as I think it has then why hasn't someone attempted to take over Blackberry? I personally prefer that we are not but if it is as great as we are all saying then why not? Do we have a poison pill or would Fairfax balk at the idea of someone intervening now?
