Market manipulation is any that creates false or misleading appearances in the market including market depth. In fact, manipulating market depth is proof of intent when charged. I know it is done all the time and many doing it do not realize it falls into the categoryy of market manifupation. The reason of course is the regulators do not charge enough people and the charges quite often as harsh as they can be!
