 It is not that people are against dilution, it is the type of dilution, they want the dilution to be done at a reasonable price, the higher the share price the less  shares are issued, the cheaper the share price of the stock the more shares are issued to raise more money.
Most investors would  like the shares to be diluted above the current stock price instead of below the current  stock trading price.
