RE:Hurry up and WaitThe majority of governmental officials are dumber than a box of rocks and care nothing more than about their own political future. Lack of staffing they say? Mining companies would gladly pay for an entire new staff if only they were guaranteed some results. The amount of tax revenues the government loses every single year from their foolish policies and lack of action is mind boggling. They complain about not having enough money to run the government while acting as their own worst enemy in keeping needed revenues from their coiffures due to their own inactions and ridiculous policies. In this day in age, nobody wants a mine that will harm the environment. Miners know this and will bend over backwards to meet regulatory demands, if only they were given the chance. Everyone knows what this boils down to in the end, don't we? Cowardly politicians giving into every single demand of the indigenous tribes...whether their demands are valid or not. Before attacking that statement, very few have the desire to trounce on the rights of the indigenous. Far from it. However, things have gotten so out of whack that all common sense is gone. Besides, most miners are more than happy to work with the indigenous tribes to a great extent. It's all so ridiculous. Money is right in front of everyone to be made, without harming the environment. But no, as usual, bad politics rule the day. An effective government official or two could really change things around if they have the backbone to do so. Act as effective mediators with the tribes and move things along to the benefit of all. Such a waste.
