As a country, Australia is said to be progressing in the global mining sector. Today, Australia claims to make approximately 30.9% of the current market value share, with two of the largest mining companies in the world having deep Australian roots.
According to the United States Geological Survey, Australia today also appears to remain the world’s second largest gold producer behind China, and followed by Russia. Additionally, Australian gold production seems to have experienced a strong recovery during the June 2020 quarter. Output totaled approximately 85 tons, and appears to be more than 10% above the March quarter.
