Western Copper and Gold Corporation is a Canada-based mining company. The Company is engaged in developing the Casino Project. The Casino Project is a copper-gold mining project in Yukon, Canada. The Casino porphyry copper-gold-molybdenum deposit is located in west central Yukon, in the northwest trending Dawson Range mountains, approximately 300 kilometers (km) northwest of the territorial capital of Whitehorse. The Casino project is located on Crown land administered by the Yukon Government and is within the Selkirk First Nation traditional territory and the Tr’ondek Hwechin traditional territory lies to the north. The Casino Property lies within the Whitehorse Mining District and consists of approximately 1,136 full and partial Quartz Claims and 55 Placer Claims acquired in accordance with the Yukon Quartz Mining Act. The total area covered by Casino Quartz Claims is approximately 21,126.02 hectares (ha). The total area covered by Casino Placer Claims is 490.34 ha.

Huh?  Whomever was selling you that Casino was a high-grade project sold you a false bill of goods.  Yes, I know many of us were hoping for some sweet, high-grade hits to put a cherry on top of this project.  But, let's remember exactly what this project is and why it appeals to the majors:

Large size, safe jurisdiction, tons of potential upside/exploration.  These type of projects are the bread n' butter of the majors.  OK, so we didn't hit a home run, but we didn't strike out.  Worst case was that we have more drilling data to refine the project = more ounces = higher NPV.  What is so terrible about that?!

How do you make up for lower grades?  A $2,500 gold price goes a long way!!  No worries, we are still on schedule.  Management can't control the gold price or copper price, they just have to grow the resource size and the rest will fall into place.
