This country does not promote investment...it promotes liquidity and trading volume with shorting having almost the same frequence of trading long.
So when you come down to it, the volume is is close to double than if shorting was prohibited and it's been getting worse and worse.
I don't hold any stock long ...it's a failed strategy for the retail sector and somewhat now being the norm for the funds also as they have both long and hedging accounts and play both sides of the fence.
