RE:Question about Shorting and how to stop it?

RE:Question about Shorting and how to stop it?chickendinner, just be prepared for a bit of problem from your broker. I'm still having a problem with CIBC Investors Edge who "declined" a bunch of my high sell orders, saying they were "substantially away from current levels". Just a warning, you may get some 'push back' from your broker. So far I have had no luck with Investors Edge. Am considering dumping them for all my self-directed accounts...although have enjoyed their $6.95 per trade regardless of $$ size

Is it better to have a sell order on Hpq shares for example $15 dollars. will this action prevent my bank from loaning my shares to shorters. Anybody know if this is true. if it is i'm putting sell order on all my shares of HPQ tomorrow morning.
