Think Big, start small, scale fast...I agree DanyBoyBanana, I have the same observations.
‘Think Big, start small, scale fast’ is an innovation framework, often used by majors, like Rio Tinto. If you don’t know about this framework, here’s a link:
https://jimcarroll.com/2010/05/innovation-think-big-start-small-scale-fast/ Why is this relevant? Okay, show us the evidence? …
Think BIG If you google ‘element north 21’, than this is what you’ll find:
- The number one scandium specialist, first and only producer in North America.
Especially ‘the number one scandium specialist’ can be attributed to thinking big. They’ve obviously done their research and studied SCY’s bubble chart. The potential for scandium is obviously there…
Start small Read this article. They’ll start with 3 tonnes per year.
https://www.northernminer.com/news/rio-tinto-to-open-north-americas-first-scandium-plant-in-ijune/1003827060/#:~:text=Rio%20Tinto%20has%20created%20an%20agile%20structure%20called,from%20the%20Canadian%20Mining%20Journal%20go%20to%20www.canadianminingjournal.com The upscale potential is 12 tonnes per year. Now go to their website.
https://www.elementnorth21.ca/ Go to the bottom of the page: A MARKET/GROWTH ALLOY WITH SIGNIFICANT POTENTIAL
- They’re mentioning ‘heat exchangers’.
That's very spedific. Have they talked to Granges???
Scale fast (Upscale quickly) If they did, they would have found out that:
- If SCY would convert all of its scandium (38 tonnes p/y) to scandium-aluminum (which is about 20,000 tonnes p/y), Granges uses tenfold of that for its heat exchangers!
Yes, tenfold. And there are others, that could take up all of SCY’s 38 tonnes, like Eck and Austal…
My point 12 tonnes of scandium per year gets you nowhere, if you want to corner this market. Who you’re gonna call?
