No company in recent memory in the Eskay Camp – we repeat, NO company – has taken a grassroots piece of ground like Westmore and turned it into a drill hole discovery in just 5 months of work. And any target that can progress that quickly, with all the “earmarks” of an Eskay-style mineralized system, almost certainly has tremendous possibilities.
- Current mineralized footprint after just 5 months of field work is impressive to say the least – 600 m by 600 m by 225 m with the system open for expansion in all directions including at depth (at Brucejack, for example, the VOK is defined over 1,200 m E-W, 700 m N-S, and 650 m depth);
- A robust and very organized system at surface (high vein density) bodes extremely well for what may exist at depth;
- Multiple vein systems in excess of 200 m in strike (at Brucejack, most mineralized shoots have vertical extents that are greater than their strike lengths, and the highest-grade vein is not even exposed at surface);
- Over 800 surface samples at Westmore show high-grade mineralization at surface over a broad area (there’s a source to all this);
- The 2 first-ever drill holes at Westmore, completed to vertical depths up to 225 metres, have intersected multiple Gold and Silver-bearing quartz veins and stockworks with individual drill core intersections returning up to 14.2 g/t Au and 86.4 g/t Ag;
- Drilling confirms an abundance of mineralized veins from near-surface to more than 200 m depth;
- Thick anomalous zones (valuable geochemical vectors) at depth;
- Critical pathfinder elements in drill core;
- A “heat engine” (intrusion) that could extend to depth for many hundreds of meters;
- Preliminary mapping indicates a Jurassic age for Westmore – if confirmed, Sassy geologists (and investors) will be doing cartwheels;
- Based on Eskay Camp history, it’s not just what Sassy can see at surface at Westmore that’s important – it’s what they can’t currently see. That’s why the upcoming geophysics survey is so critical.
As more is learned about this system, and if it’s what some experienced observers believe it is, drilling success at Westmore will accelerate with thicker intercepts and higher grades.
As encouraged as we are about Westmore and the broader Foremore Property, we’re confident CEO Mark Scott will also find other ways to build shareholder value and deliver on a promise to keep Sassy “Lively, Bold and Full of Spirit” year-round.
