NOTE: You want to do much the same as I have done and subscribe to the Sassy Report in order to keep abreast of ongoing developments with this relatively new junior in the Eskay Camp. The following is from the current Sassy Report that you can subscribe to right from their home page: https://sassyresources.ca/ With labs backed up due to increased drilling in B.C. and Covid-19 protocols in place, it has been a longer than expected wait to share drill results from last fall's program at Westmore in the southwest part of Sassy's 100%-owned Foremore Property in the Eskay Camp. As announced Friday morning (Feb. 5),
the first two drill holes ever completed at Westmore have confirmed a new early-stage grassroots gold-silver discovery. More results are on the way, but the next exploration step is a state-of-the-art geophysical survey planned for March-April (weather permitting) that may reveal important new information about this recently exposed area.
Our team is excited by this new find in one of the world's most richly endowed mining districts. The abundance of mineralized veins with pockets of high-grade, combined with critical pathfinder elements in drill core (consistent with features recognized on surface) and thick zones of quartz stockworks in drill core, suggest the potential for a large orogenic style gold-silver deposit at Westmore. Notably, this has all come together so very quickly - experienced Eskay Camp commentators have noted the impressive speed at which the Sassy exploration team advanced this greenfield discovery last summer and fall, and those first big steps will prove incredibly helpful at taking this discovery to the next level over the coming months.
The first two drill holes at Westmore, completed to vertical depths up to 225 meters, intersected multiple gold and silver-bearing quartz veins and stockworks with individual drill core intersections returning up to
14.2 g/t Au and
86.4 g/t Ag. In addition,
130 surface rock samples returned gold values ranging from
1 g/t Au to
157 g/t Au, and
56 samples returned silver values ranging from
30.7 g/t Ag to
1,510 g/t Ag.
Westmore's current mineralized footprint after just five months of field work is
600 metres x 600 metres x 225 metres with the system open for expansion in all directions including at depth.
To quote Ian Fraser, Sassy VP-Exploration,
“We now have over 2,000 additional data points to plan our upcoming drilling in a major follow-up to this discovery.” President and CEO Mark Scott added,
“It is rare to accumulate so much encouraging data, in particular well-mineralized drill intercepts, over such a short period of time from a greenfield area with no drilling history or previous systematic exploration.” The above information reveals only a few of Friday's news release highlights, and we strongly encourage you to access the full news release below. In keeping with ongoing developments at Sassy Resources, we have also expanded our engagement on various social media platforms and encourage you to network with us on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook, where you will have the opportunity to meet and converse with other shareholders as the Sassy Resources story evolves in the weeks and months ahead.
