Finding a balance
Finding a balanceThen there are-Glass Sponges further south.-The Hecate Strait and Queen Charlotte Sound Reefs are the largest reefs. They are 9,000 years old, cover 1,000 square kilometres, and reach the height of an eight-storey building. Somewhere I read that the windfarm will be in an isolated part of Hecate Strait in shallow waters. I assume the area's marine life has been checked out. Yes there will be the opposition. Some like the idea of windfarms off the BC coast, but not necessarily in Hecate Strait. Others don't like windfarms, nor dams, nuclear, pipeline, LNG, refineries, etc. Tough crowd out there. So it becomes evident that it's going to be a challenge verses the goal of providing jobs and economic benefits to communities. Finding a balance will be half the effort for this project.
