The point was that any business needs to make wise capital acquisition and allocation decisions to be optimally effective. Whether you are a coal miner or a biotech, you need to do that well or you get a sub-optimal long term result. Buffett is hyper focused on such matters and it one reason why he is the investment icon he is today. Had he ever invested in a biotech, based on his excellent track record of acquiring and deploying capital, I am pretty sure he would have never touched that particular financing.
