RE:RE:RE:"Doth protest too much"- Brent Cook My problem with this guy is comments on if FVL is so good (I am paraphrasing), why didn't Kinross buy them a long time ago? This is such a dumb comment for a hundred reasons buy I will give you a few:
1. When FVL was $0.08 and the gold price was less than $1400USD, all that was known was it was a low grade sulphide deposit which was not economical. That was true. Why the hell would Kinross buy a penny stock way back when. The gold price turned around and hole 2001 resulted in the stock price going from $0.08 to $1.95 with guys like ES coming in.
2. QMX just got taken out by Eldorado at $.30 last month. Eldorado owned 19% of the company and could have taken it out much cheaper. Eldorado bought into two large private placements early last year for about $0.06 or around that. There are a lot of factors on timing and having a company drill out a property before it is taken out.
3. You have any property with 10M plus ounces with a good chance of many millions more, with high grade portions for sure, and the economics change very very fast. Also gold ounces in a safe jurisidication, near major infrastructure and a major producer within 5KM. So there is a lot more to consider. .
So for a geologist like Cook to be making such elementary comments is surprising. Again, not sure why.
