Re:RE:Re:Gold mine fined $100,000. Toxic air pollution foundOceana has reduced mercury emissions to .05----approximately 3.5 is permitted under present regulations; they are in compliance after spending $1M to deal with the situation.
The artilcle is anti mining, saturated with anti mining sentiments from a far left liberal former Democrat politiician and a member of the Sierra Club. Whoever wrote the article, and the publisher can be ranked fake news since anyone with an ounce of knowledge about ideology knows it to be ultra left, not balanced. It's a wonder anything was written about Ocean's mitigation of the mercury issue----I suppose they thought it best to mention something.
Ak--correct, not exactly desirable in the United Socialist States of America---a term one would have thought impossible only ten years ago. These groups are very organized and you can assume they two women mentioned in the article know Robin Broad et al personally or through her anti mining efforts. Mr. Padilla of the Filippines knows Dr. Broad personally.
If Oceana can continue to send reliable, on time data to authorities that meets regulatory standards, I don't see a problem continuing operations. IMO
