However, the CEO gets asked about eSports betting whenever he gives an interview because the opportunity is very large. Thus far he said that EGLX will not get into sports betting directly, but will partner with a large gaming company that wants access to the massive EGLX gaming user base.
At the very least, bettting on eSports is good for EGLX's advertising business because they have a relationship with 65 million gen-z americans who the betting companies want to convert into customers. This is high value lead generation and EGLX will be able to charge a lot if their platform actually converts gamers into eSports bettors on a gambling site. There are lots of gambling companies competing for customers who spend time on EGLX's site, so the one that wins the relaionship with EGLX will have to pay up to do it.
