I think you're referring to their assumption that if you put a limit sell order on their shares, that they then couldn't be borrowed for shorting. That was, and remains, a complete myth. Having a sell order DOES NOT prevent institutions from lending out your shares to short sellers.

If the intent this time is to simply have a high limit sell price as the "shorts are gonna get squeezed" and thus the share price is going to rise and you don't want to sell too low, well that's ridiculous unless one's limit sell orders are only around .70 cents or lower, since there's no imminent catalyst that would rise the stock price that much in one day.

So if people have limit sell orders of $5 or so (or evem $1 or $2) shorts can still borrow your shares and you're in no danger of selling your shares by accident due a short squeeze.
