RE:New BIV Business in Vancouver article on Morrison Mine
Thanks Salmon for posting the BIV article. If nothing else, it adds addiional light to BKM's challenges in moving forward with this project.
So now that this "treaty of sorts" has been "hammered out", where does BKM stand on moving forward? Are there more gov to LBN discussions planned? Is the NDP actually serious about job creation and mineral development, or are they just Trudeau-light with nothing more than lip service and inaction?
According to their lawyer, the LBN's position hasn't changed on the Morrison Project. Are they playing hard ball to negotiate a better deal? Or are they just anti business, despite the opportunities for improving their revenue streams, job creation, quality of life, etc. I don't know, but I would like to better understand their oppositon based on the facts. Unless there are some real underlying reasons that could explain the opposition, isn't this the type of opportunity for self sufficiency the FN have been wanting? A better quality of life for future generations. Every oppotunity has a risk/reward.
I hope for everyone's sake, the project is ultimately evaluated based on facts and scientific evidence, not on political, emotional or personal opinions. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Salmon has repeatedly stated here the potential benefits for all, as well as addressing reasons for opposition, and has done so IMO in a fair and balanced manner.
It appears to me until there is a change of thought, BKM is stuck in a proverbial chess game as the pawn. And us shareholders just keep getting older by the day with no certainty other than death and taxes.
