RE:RE:RE:RE:Imagine if BBD kept the Cseries ??Clearly, that heading is not from the G&M, but some other site reprinting the Globe's article.

Jim99999 wrote: You guys are paranoid. There is nothing in that article that is disparaging to BBD. They are simply reporting what Airbus said. It is relevant as QC govt owns 25% stake in the program.

Globe says Bombardier's old A-220 drags Airbus's profit

2021-02-19 08:11 ET - In the News

The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday edition that Airbus SE says it will take a year longer than planned to make the A-220 jet business it bought from Bombardier a profitable operation, warning that the pace of recovery in the aviation industry is far from clear. The Globe's Nicolas Van Praet writes that airlines are making good use of the fuel-efficient A-220 single-aisle jet in the current crisis, senior executives for the European plane maker said in a conference call Thursday to discuss fourth-quarter results. However, the plane program remains a money-losing proposition from a manufacturing perspective. Airbus needs to increase production rates for the aircraft to boost profit margins as it moves through the learning curve that comes with building an all-new jet. That will not happen as quickly as planned because of work slowdowns and delivery adjustments related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Airbus finance chief Dominik Asam told analysts on the call. The company estimates that the profit picture for the A-220 will not flip to the positive until the middle of this decade, about a year later than previous projections. The Quebec government owns 25 per cent of the A-220 program, and Airbus owns 75 per cent.
