RE:RE:RE:RE:Top shelf Scotch tonight - Cobalt Korea Resources Corporation(KORES) formed partnership with Capstone Mining Corp.(Capston) in June 17, 2011 by acquiring certain amount of Capstone's stocks.
Along with the stock acquisition, KORES also formed strategic partnership with Capstone for the Santo Domingo copper-iron-gold project in Chile as well.
Santo Doming Copper Project
The Santo Domingo Project, owned 30% by Korea Resources Corporation (KORES) and 70% by Capstone, is a large-scale copper-iron development project. The Santo Domingo Project is located 50 kilometers west of Codelco's El Salvador copper mine, and 130 kilometers north-northeast of Copiap, near the town of Diego de Almagro in Region III, Chile.
Santo Doming's proven and probable reserves contain 392.3 million tonnes at 0.30% Cu and 28.2% Fe in ore. The average annual production for life of mine(LOM) is estimated at approximately 60,000 tonnes of copper and 4.2 million tonnes of iron concentrates for a mine life of 18 years.
In July 2015, the Santo Domingo project received approval of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). Deteriorating commodity prices in September 2015 resulted in KORES suspending development at Santo Domingo in an effort to preserve financial flexibility.
