Verde Trading Numbers 2020 vs 2021As a "numbers guy", I appreciate all the summary and detailed trading data that is now readily available to investors, including of course the Verde Agritech data. Here are some summary numbers for you:
In 2020 we recorded a total of 8,547,457 shares changing hands at a weighted average selling price of $0.581. The trades were conducted as 4,409 individual transactions with an average trade volume of 1,938 shares. This volume of activity, if all representing the permanent movement between shareholders would have meant that 17.6% of the 48,444,803 issued and outstanding shares of Verde changed ownership in 2020. While existing shareholders at January 1, 2020 will likely have been active in buying additional shares, there are clearly new shareholders who have come to be co-owners of Verde in 2020 - I am certainly one of them and now hold just over 1%.
Since the beginning of 2021 we have now logged 35 trading days, during which we saw 3,084,158 shares change hands at a weighted average selling price of $1.11 (a 91% increase over the $0.581 in 2020). Interestingly, the 2,320 trades produced an average transaction size of 1,329 shares, down from the 1,938 shares per transaction in 2020. This might suggest that the buying so far this year has been done by a larger number of smaller retail investors buying into the Company in more modest amounts than experienced in 2020 when the average price was about half the current level,
Again I am struck by the turnover of shares, with the first 35 days in 2021 representing 6.36% of the 48,444,803 total shares issued. This level of activity, when added to the 17.6% turnover in 2020 means that over 24% of the Company's shares changed hands since January 1, 2020.
I believe this represents a significant renewed interest and optimism in the Company and its long term, sustainable and profitable prospects. I know that is the reason I was attracted to the Company's story and have committed a significant part of my portfolio to purchasing Verde shares, and committed a significant amount of my research time to the Verde due diligence work that continues today.
As always, I am delighted to hear from other shareholders to share ideas and thoughts about the Company.
Cheers,
S.
