I still do not understand why would a company pay off debt by giving shares at 0.025 cents at the time when it was trading at 0.09 cents

if someone payed me off with 0.025 cents shares and gave me exactly what they owed in share amount at that price i would sell those shares at 0.09 cents and make 4x my my money.
