RE:Coffee Time: Let the Promotion begin ....... CBC National
Kevin needs to realize that when he's talking to outlets like the CBC, he needs to focus almost entirely on the environment and other left wing issues. This piece did not come across well as the reporter focused half of the article on the environment in a negative way and Kevin did not hit the talking points needed. The word nasties doesn't look good. Next time prepared talking points on environmental mitigation need to be emphasized and instead of talking about nasties he should have said that they will do everything possible to identify and avoid the old tailings and that mining has evolved significantly over the years to minimize that type of pollution. Even if he has data on the relative content of the tailings in terms of arsenic or cyanide or other things, that would be the time to share it. It's a new media and political environment and this reporter has been hitting Atlantic gold hard for its environmental issues. Hope he is more prepared next time. He has to know who he is talking to and tailor the information appropriately. This was a missed opportunity for good pr and comes across as bad pr. This reporter was not interested in jobs and economic benefits for nova scotia and the country but rather on hitting more on environmental issues. With the big lng plant nearby, thinking about what equipment can be powered by lng or even electric, like Monarch was proposing to do in Quebec would bring huge positive publicity and speed the way to development as well as probably access a lot of grants. I'm much more excited about the gold and digging it up but the CBC and left wing media and SJWs are not, and they have significant political influence. This is a sensitive issue with Atlantic's problems nearby.
