However, knowing that the reagent is "fragile" to some extent and has a lifespan it is fair to be concerned that in less than ideal conditions the consumer may not reap the full benefit for the duration. Given that we skirted regulatory approval as a medical device (I think that is good btw) we don't have that imprimatur so the doubts are reasonable...like, "hey, I thought my Prius was going to get 55 mpg and its only 48". And that kind of complaining came inspite of clear info and testing. So if cartridge lifespan becomes an issue that is better than if not - becuase it will mean the devices are being used. As long as their is an automatic notification that the reagent is no longer viable then the worst is some grumbling by some cutomers who are mad about spending a little more while everyone else enjoys a needed technological advancement, eh?
