Statistics Canada Released: 2021-02-24 Canadian manufacturers produced 1.7 billion cigarettes in January, up 36.2% from December 2020. Cigarette production was 39.0% higher compared with January 2020. The total number of cigarettes sold decreased 28.4% to 1.3 billion from December 2020. The level of sales was 0.6% higher compared with January 2020.
