IMO they should publish data to silence the skeptics - then the world would be their oyster.
Depending on one's perceptiion, keeping quiet can convey to share holders and prospective buyers either the impression of pompousness, or that there is actually a real problem and if it is ignored properly it might go away, at least for a while.
