RE:Low Level Nuclear Waste - Possible new client baseTerryG ... Good post.
That's my assumption that PYR will pursue these niche markets, when I looked at
Perma-Fix Environmental Services, as per my previous post. But you gave us more insights from within the industry. Thanks.
And indeed, electricity (for our plasma technology) comes cheap at nuclear plants.

TerryG - (3/4/2021 9:31:42 AM) Low Level Nuclear Waste - Possible new client base I worked for years at a US nuclear plant. One "Waste Stream" is called low level nuclear waste. Each plant produces a significant volume of this waste.
"Approximately 4.25 million cubic feet and 135 thousand curies of low-level radioactive waste were disposed of in 2019*. The volume and radioactivity of waste vary from year to year based on the types and quantities of waste shipped."
If each plant were to install a waste processing unit similar to what the US carriers have purchase the volume could be reduced significantly. The nuclear industry pays for each cubic foot of waste sent for disposal. These processing units would save the nuclear industry hundreds of millions per year. The electricity to power the plasma torches is also readily available "on site".
