I think the big picture people are missing is the fact that some heavy equipment just cannot be replaced by electric motors. For example the mining industry, in attempts to go electric to some extent some mines were even considering small nuclear reactors, which the Canadian government shut down.

Something like this doesnt happen overnight, for example requiring def fluid in carbon regen systems took years. This is no different.
