Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

Not a big fan of miso soup myself but I do agree Tilphria will do fine. My point is they might not have a head start at all if established networks from multinationals jump in. A good example of this unfolding is actually a Canadian company FAF which will be bought out by ATD. They will have instant access to Circle K' entire network through the USA, effectively eliminating any first movers advantage of existing US dispensaries. The same can happen on an international scale so the landscape can change very quickly. MSO' are gaining market share at home just as Aphria did in Canada, but the key to international expandion is a merger with an existing multinational whale....any other path would be too slow if a company is to be a global competitor.
