RE:So is the money backer for WONDERWALL?I don't think the problem was increased volume, it was that kind of voiume that mattered. What happened however demonstrated a flaw in the business model that the designers never considered, there are probably a few more flaws that will eventually be exposed.
Robinhood is selling data from the trades going on, it's a different business model from commisions. The idea may need adjustments, or maybe it simply cannot ever work. Looking back at the early www days, it was a stuggle to earn money from a website, at first it was Google that finally figured out how to do it using a search engine service, they collected and sold users data for directed ads, that was the key that got the company earning big profits. Maybe RH will find a more profitable way to earn enough, or maybe a competitor will figure it out first.
As for ALY and MW, the business model is vastly different as it includes more than an end user app. We also do not yet know how they will make money from their app, it may end up being commision/transaction based for all we know.
