Small number of people vs all the brain power in tech
Leodevoe stated: Among other things I don't think the small number of people who buy this story are smarter than all the brain power in the tech space. That is an interesting statement when you consider that most new and better products that eventually evolve were born from a small number of people that proved they were smarter than the existing status quo from any given industry at the time.
Now before one bequeaths unquestionable trust and faith in what appears to be all the brain power in the tech space, one might first define who they are, who they are employed by, and what is their employers long term business model.
It appears that such entities as Cablelabs would have no reason to exist today if all this "brain power" had, and was, serving all the essential technical needs of their future member co.s.
It is interesting to note even why YFI was selected to participate in UpRamp. More importantly note the "small number of people" that effectively made that decision.
Edgewater Wireless was judged and selected by senior industry leaders – including CEOs and CTOs of some of the largest cable operators in the world.
And why did they do this? They disclosed that member co.s were complaining of a myriad of unsolved wifi problems.Further disclosures identified not only these problems, but also the added operational and maintenance costs.
So, what has essentially changed to resolve these issues and complaints? Well, we are beginning to see evidence of what the current brain power has done to solve it, and now we are beginning to see evidence of the fruits borne by a small number of people over the last 3 years. Hopefully, an nonhindered free market will be the eventual judge.
