Pumpers here have been claiming the previous miners left literally half the gold, 50% in the waste dump, for some bizarre reason. Furthermore Bob at the time believed the waste dump had 120,000 cubic meters but after the drilling PHD conducted that number was reduced to ... 25,000 cubic yards.
So basically the pile is 1/5 the size and only a fraction of the grade that folks had been pumping it at.
