The company is developing a tunneling robot to efficiently and safely bore utility conduits through any geology. ArcByt’s innovative technology is 10x faster and 1/10th the cost of most conventional tunneling methods, making small-diameter utility infrastructure economically viable.

The Role

This role will stress test your capabilities to learn new high tech skills in a matter of days. One day you might be asked to setup a new SCADA system and the next to create a HMI dashboard that is presenting GB of data the sensors generated. You will be supporting a team of mechanical engineers, PhD’s, and other robotics engineers developing a machine that can change the world.

About You

You are responsible, organized, and detail-oriented. You can problem-solve in a fast-paced, high aptitude, technical working environment. You are as handy with a screwdriver as with an embedded platform like Jetson Nano or an industrial PLC. You should like Python and be OK with AWS or GCP. You have fabrication experience and are eager to expand your hands-on skills. You’re energetic and excited to grow with our company.

Responsibilities

Design of actuation and sensor systems
Design of the control algorithms for the said systems
Setup test infrastructure consisting of sensors, cameras, and actuators controlling mission-critical robot operations
Create the sensing infrastructure for the safety of the team (the camera sees fire and your logic immediate shuts down the airflow to the subsystems)
Research options for new ways to improve our solution
Work with the PLC / HMI / SCADA team connecting industrial automation with the modern cloud infrastructure
