RE:What gives?the drill program is testing their geological model, and they are drilling systematically in the Keats (discovery) zone, while also conducting a fair bit of step out drilling near the northern limits of the lease. So far, they have encountered extremely good results in both scenarios, but the program is still at an early stage.
more of the attention being paid to the discovery zone vicinity, as they attempt get a better picture at exactly what they are looking at. Imagine the target veins as being straws poked into a sand hill, and then their surface locations covered over, so that their actual locations are not certain.
Then, from a (drill) step out location proximal to the discovery hole, you poke steel rods at various inclined trajectories from that (drill) location, attempting to intersect some of those straws, so as to get a measurement of the intercept width and the amount of gold contained in the straw(s) being intercepted on each of those holes.
Later, they will repeat the concept at various step outs, as they attempt to get a picture of the prospective resources along the rest of the fault zone along strike.
Obviously, this is a very difficult puzzle to solve, and yet, NFG has had great success to date at getting extremely positive results as they have initiated this program.
This is still very early in this game, and personally, I am being patient and positive in what I've seen thus far.
